Well, apart from the simple answer to “What’s the best homework for children in Primary School” – the research says “None”… How about this as inspiration – Take on the summer with a Play approach.    

Being a Carer is something that touches most of us at some point in life – to some it touches all of their lives.  If you are a Carer, or you know someone who is, you may be interested in taking part in the Carers’ Strategy Breakfast. It’s never dull – there is always something on the calendar if you are in, or around, Pencaitland. June is especially busy – end of year show for the P7s leaving, school trips and outings, end of year service, planning for 2017/18, Sports Day, meet your teacher, P1 and P7 transitions. Well, we all know; kids, staff and parents all just make it through June and plummet into holiday time…but hopefully everyone hits summer feeling good.  IT’S PLAYTIME Join the kids in PPS on their lunch break, join in their games, share some you remember playing and add another dimension to their play and interacting happily with a range of adults. You may be completely ignored by your own children, but some will be very happy to have you there :). Mon-Thurs 12:30-1:15 weeks commencing 12th & 19th June. You may also come up with helpful ideas for developing play at playtimes as Parent Council and PTA are taking this focus forward into next school session.  Family Fun Days ...

National Improvement Framework is a hefty piece of work, driving forward aims and objectives for the delivery of curriculum / education in Scotland. You’ll find various posts on our Edubuzz website and elsewhere but this sums it up and may be a good insight for those of us just looking for a glimpse in to it.
